31st May, 2018 Alhaji Muhammad Buhari President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria signed into law a bill which seek to amend the age brackets at which citizens can vie elective positions in the nation's polity, this law will avail young people opportunities leading the nation.
This development is of course a resounding victory for youths and a morale boost for Democratic values in the political landscapes of the African continents and her subregions.
In votive fulfillment of the objectives of African Youth Parliament and in tandem 2018 theme of the International Youth Day " *Creating Space for Youths"*  we appreciate the landmarking assent by President Mohammed Buhari.
To our valued and esteemed Youths, this victory shouldn't derail the struggle into uncoordinated jamboree and armchair activism rather we charge you vibrant youths to utilize this opportunity as a means to showcase to the world your innate capacity to provide for Nigeria purposeful leadership that will alter the sociopolitical status quo of our nation.
The youth agenda will come to fruition when Nigerian youths in unity harness all structures devoid of ethno religious bigotry towards effecting positive changes in the administrative system of this nation.
We should be informed that the international community are observing with keen interest how well we pursue and actualize the youth agenda in 2019 as our success or otherwise will be a prototype for youth inclusion in Governance in other African Countries who are also bedevilled by the sit tight syndromes of some geriatric African leaders.
There is strength in unity and this shall be our essential arsenal as we pursue our goal of redeeming Africa.
